Loggins

Denise White Rexford  (View posts) Posted: 26 Apr 1999 2:20AM GMT
I am looking for relatives to my Grandmother, Rosa Lee Loggins <White>. She was born on 07-08-1909 in GA. I know her mothers name was Mae Loggins <Pitts>. Mae died when my grandmother was very young. Grandma doesn't remember much about her mother, except for the bad headaches she use to have. Her father is George Martin Loggins. I think they lived in or near Lumpkin County in Georgia. Any info is greatly appreciated........Denise

Loggins in Georgia

B. F. Sanbers  (View posts) Posted: 1 May 1999 12:58PM GMT
My g.grandfather, William A. Loggins, b. abt 1849 in Habersham Co., GA, was son of Almond/Alman Loggins who m. Mahaly Jones in Hall Co. There are several Loggins in Hall & Habersham Co.'s and most are said to have come from SC. Unfortunately,I don't have a Rosa Mae or George Martin in my data base. I do have a Martin (probably much too old to be of assistance) b. abt 1751-1761, Charlotte Co., VA? who was son of James, b. 1725-1735, VA, d. 1797, Charlotte Co., VA. This probably doesn't help much. If you get more details on your Loggins, let me know and I will help if I can. I go to the GA Archives quite often.

I am brand new to tracing the family name - I have just started out - my father Charles William Loggins died this past August - He was 71 - His father was Charles Clayton Loggins (b. 1898)- youngest son of Major Loggins born ? - but served in the War between the states) - This family is from south Blount County (Selfville) Alabama. I recognize many of the names in your list - Most of this branch of Logginses were Methodist and are buried in Bethlehem Methodist Church cemetary just north of the Jefferson County line on Highway 79 (Selfville) - There is a Samuel Wesley Loggins and a John Wesley Loggins and several William Loggins buried there- (I even found one with my name on it!) I haven't been to the cemetary in several years. Hope this helps

Steven;
What is the date on Samuel Wesley Loggins
Tombstone? Is his wife buried at same place
beside him? Think he was married at least
two times. Possible there are several Samuel
Westley Loggins also, but they must be from
same family line. Wife's name would be a
great help. Is there a William Loggins buried
there buried about 1804 with wife named Nancy?
Will be glad to help you with info that I
have-what is your line? Lowell

Greetings,
I noticed your message about the Loggins family. I hope you might help me. I'm trying to find info about a Charles Loggins who had a wife named Harriet and a daughter named Margaret (Vonia). Would you have these names in your family tree?

Thank You
