As I am creating my family tree, it has occurred to me that my last name was most likely adjusted to "Longendyke" over the years, which would be the Americanized spelling. My family emigrated from the Netherlands to New York around ??, (this is the information I am looking for). If anyone has any useful information, or would like to swap information, please feel free to email me.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Longendyck

My great grandmother was Margaret Longendyke. She was born in the 1853 in NY probably around Saugerties. She married a
Henry Rightmyer and they had 8 children. She passed away in the 1920's. My father remembered her. She was a tall woman.
I am trying to get any information that I can for my family.
Any information available would be greatly appreciated

Dear

My Longendyke relative was Lottie or Lotta Longendyke. She lived in Saugerties, NY. Was born there ~ 1857. Her mother's name was Caty Midah and her father's name was Tjerick Longendyke. She married William Hurl. They had 8 boys. Lottie and William were my great grandparents on my mother's side.

I found out this info when I sent to Ulster County for their wedding certificate. I know very little more about her. In fact, my mother always said that her name was Lottie Klondyke.

I am hoping that something that I have written will match with something you know. Let me know.

Candy,
I have a geneology book on the Rightmyers, my maiden name.
In this book there are some listings for the longendykes.
In Saugerties, NY, in 1857, my great-grandmother Margaret Alida Longendyke was born to Henry longendyke and unkn0wn.
She married Henry Rightmyer of Conesville later of Germantown, Columbia County, NY. There is also a mention of a Charlotte or Carrie LOngendyke born in Plattekill in Ulster county. The information on the Longendykes came from the Deane & Deane Funeral Home in conesville, NY. She died in Hudson, NY but is buried in the Jefferson rural cemetary in Catskill. There seems to be a homestead in that area and there are two books on the web sites which I don't have at present I believe one is by simms that detail some of the history of the area.
Hope this helps you I am stymied right now. I hope that the gentleman who has the family bible will get in touch with me too.
Jessie

I would like to see if you have some information re the Longendyke's My great grandmother was Margaret Alida Longendyke. Her Father was Henry Longendyke and her mother is listed as unknown in my geneology of the Rightmyers. She married my Grandfather Henry Rightmyer of Conesville, NY and she was from Saugerties. They lived in Germantown, NY and she died in 1933. She had 7 children one of whom was my Grandfather Walter John Rightmyer b.1887. There is also a mention of a Caroline or Carrie Longendyke b. Plattekill, 1854, She is buried in the Jefferson Rural Cemetary She married John Eli Rightmyer in Catskill, She was the daughter of Cornelius Longendyke and Jane Carnwright They had two Children Jennie and George. John E. Rightmyer was the brother of my great Grandfather, Henry Rightmyer

Please let me know if you have any information about them and about the family bible. I would really like to trace my Longendyke roots.

Yes, I noticed you said you had a book of the Rightmyer's do you perhaps have a Lewis or Louis in your book listed would have been born abt. 1825 am trying desperately to find his father and mother. If you don't mind to look you can email me at Charo60@aol.com. Lewis was listed as being a tailor as his trade. Just can't seem to place him in any early 1800 families? Thank you for a reply.
