I am compiling data on the McDaneld family of PA/OH/IN/MO et al. I have considerable information on the descendants of Josephus and Catherine Wells McDaneld, which I would be happy to exchange with others researching this family.

Shirley, Tell me more about your Hiram McDaniel, such as dates and places. My great grandfather was Hiram McDaneld b. 1844, Clark Co.,IN, son of Josephus and Catherine. I've seen the name spelled various ways, but believe, in my line at least, McDaneld is correct. That is the way the family spells it today.

I am looking for info on this family. My deceased husband's was related to the McDanelds through William Henry Harrison McDaneld who was Hiram's Brother. His grandmother was Comfort Orilla McDaneld. I have some info on this family but would appreciate anything that I can get. Thanks

Hi, Beverly: The only information I have about Hiram Long McDaniel is that he was born May 3, 1835 and died Jan 19, 1913. He was born in Moniteau (could be a county or a town), Missouri and is buried in Union Cemetary in Jefferson City, Mo. His daughter, Elizabeth Ann was my great grandmother. She married a John Irvin Dearing on Nov 12, 1882 in Moniteau, Mo.

Does that fit with anything yo have?

My Hiram Reeves McDaneld was born in Indiana 1844, and moved to Livingston Co., MO after the Civil War, along with two of his brothers, Nathan R. and William H. H. You find the name spelled various ways in census and other documents, but my branch of the family consistantly spelled it McDaneld from Hiram's generation down. There is a possibility of a connection. I guess our Hirams could be cousins. Just don't know. I do have a lot of data on my McDanelds. Hiram's father was Josephus, who was the son of John. They came to Indiana from Ohio, and before that were in PA, I believe.

If you will send me your e-mail address, I will send a file on the McDaneld line. I would appreciate the same from you.

I guess they could be cousins - boy, you have a lot of info! I don't have anything further back than Hiram; no parents, siblings, etc.

My Hiram was born in 1835 in Moniteau, Missouri and died in 1913 in Jefferson City, Missouri. That's all the info I have on him - no spouse info, either.

I guess I've hit a brick wall with Hiram, but I'll keep trying. Thanks so much for your help. And have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
