Hello Lee - I have 9,200 + names in my McElhannon family history data base,
But no Mary who married a J.D. Johnson in GA in 1850's. I do have one
Mary Ellen McElhannon who married a John Johnson. 13 July 1922, in Texas.
Have large number of Mary's in data base - do you have any additional info
on this Mary, that we could use to help identify her - like other names or
place names. Will be glad to help if I can. Dennis T.

Dennis, I was wrong. The Mary McElhannon of the
1860 census was the _widow_ of George McElhannon. She
had remarried Jerry D. Johnson abt 1866, probably in
Jackson Co. Her children with George were Frances, b.
abt 1855 and John C., b. abt 1859. I suspect that George
may have died in the Civil War. Does any of this make any sense?
