Jacquie, do you have some specifics of your family? I'm descended from Lucille McQuown, daughter of Charles, son of James who was born in the 1840's in Kentucky, and moved to Indiana.

well, being that I'm only 16 and the only survivors of the McQuown family that I'm part of are my dad and my uncle, I will say this, my grandmother and grandfather are James Jr and Nadine. I do know that my father has a cousin that lives in Florida, but of course, maybe one of them would know better. I'll ask my father to post a message here, maybe he can help out some, eh?

I have a Mary Ann McQuowen who married Alexander Dampier December 17, 1853 in Nicholas County, KY. Her mother was Ann McQuowen. She signed the marriage bond, so Mary Ann's father must have been deceased by 1853. Alexander died in 1855 and Mary Ann married Richard Wight March 18, 1857. Children of Mary and Alexander was Mary Alice Dampier, actually born prior to the marriage (August 1, 1853). Ky records have Jesse Smith and Mary Dampier listed as Mary Alices' parents.

Would appreciate any info you might have if there is a link in our lines. Have quite a bit of info coming forward. Willing to swap info. May e-mail direct at mvicars@sky1.net or connievic@yahoo.com Thanks. Connie

I would be very interested in any information about the McQuown family that might link to mine. This is what I have--
James McQuown, born Kentucky, June 8, 1843, married Eliza (Elizabeth)J. Williams, Oct 14, 1869 in Crawfordsville, Montgomery Co, IN, died June 9, 1907 in Crawfordsville. Had at least three sons but I only know the name of one (Charles).
Charles V. born Nove 22, 1871, Indiana, married Hattie Luddington, daughter of Hisler and Elizabeth J. Campbell Luddington. Charles was a photorapher, moved to Indianapolis about 1900, then to Detroit, MI and died June 17, 1937 in Detroit, MI.
Charles Hattie had four children--
Stella (1899-1968), m. Orian Rouland
Ruth (1910-1993), m. Donald Campkin
Lucille (1905-1962), m. John Lowery
Lloyd, (1897-1979) m. Katheryn.

Thanks for any help.

Louise Hales:
Sorry Louise, the Kentucky McQuowns are my
primary research line but I don't have a
one of the names you listed. My McQuown's
are from the Glasgow and Bardstown area.
Please feel free to submit another list
anytime.
