I am looking for the brother(s) and sister(s) of Frank Edmund Monian. His father immigrated from Poland and they settled in Wisconsin.

Frank Edmund Monian married June Nelson and they had two children - Edmund and Judy.

Edmund (my father) married Lucille Burchett. They had 3 kids - Edmund Jr, Nadine and myself, Deborah.

Judy (my Aunt) married James Glogovsky and had 2 kids - James Jr, and Kathyrn.

Any information whatsoever on my Grandfather would be appreciated! Thank you,

Debbi Storczer nee Monian

My grandfather Leo Monian was born in the Stevens Point area in 1908. His family presumably ran a tavern or hotel business there. He had a brother Frank (I don't think this is your Frank because this Frank married a Tilly), sisters Leone, Florence, Connie, and Lucille. I guess his father died rather young and the family moved to Milwaukee. Does anyone know something about my family history?

Kerry,

Saw your posting and was wondering if you knew anymore about your grandfather Leo. How did he come to America, when, his parents history?

The reason I ask is my grandfather Frank Monian came over from Poland with his Mom and Dad and several sisters and I believe 1 brother. I don't know their names, but I do know that the Mother died on the ship enroute. Then the Father joined the Railroad and basically put all the kids in various farming families in the Wisconsin area. So, my Grandfather basically lost touch with almost all of his siblings. Also, if this is the same family - do you know what the original Polish name was before it was Americanized?

Thanks,

Debbi Storczer 'nee Monian

Kerry,

I have some more information that may help to determine if we are talking the same family.

My Grandfather Frank Monian was baptized in Ashland County in 1907. He had several brothers and 1 sister. Brothers were: Anthony Sylvester, Joseph, Lawrence Leo, and Matthew Stanley. I believe the Sister's name was Martha V. (possibly Vera?). According to the baptism records there are 2 different possible last names (Mania and Monian).

My Grandfather's parents where Frank Monian (Mania) and Mary Knotz. They married in Ashland County on 10 Jan 1899.

From what I can tell - my G-Grandfather was Anton Monian who came over from Germany-Poland about 1868.

Hope this helps find a link or not. Let me know if this helps. Thanks.

I saw that you had an Aunt Judy who married James Glogosky. Did Glogosky originate in Cleveland Ohio? I have Glogosky in distant relations which are Czech/Hungarian/Slovak possibly. Do you have any information on the Glogosky's.

Thank you

My grandfather's name was Frank Glogovsky. He was born and resided in Cleveland all of his life. One of his brother's was Matthew, also called Matey. I believe that their father, my great-grandfather, may have also been named Matthew, but am not sure.

I would like to hear more since I am just beginning to search my ancestry.

Surnames: Monian/Hoboski
My great, great Grandfather's name is Anton Monian. He was born in Poland in 1830 and died in 1920. He was married to Edna Hoboski, also from Poland. The records I found on here say their children are: Jacob (my great Grandfather), Frank, John, Joseph, Catherine, Thomas, Mary, Frances and Martha. I haven't been able to get any further back than this. I know they came over with another name. My Grandfather said it was Monianovich. I don't know if this is correct or if it is the correct spelling.
