I live in CT and come from a long line of Muenchow's. My dad was Rennock and we had relatives that lived in Berlin, Germany by the last name of Rennock.
My grandfather was Richard Reinhart Muenchow and they have always lived in CT.

Hello,
Do any of you have a Caroline Fredircke Muenchow in you family tree Caroline parents names are Albert Muenchow and Anna Abel. I am not sure who came from Germany and the only dates I have to go with these names is Caroline's birthday is either September 2nd,1868 or September 30,1879and her date of death is May 22, 1964
Caroline Married a Wilhelm Roeglin on April 30, 1890
This is my great grandmother and she spoke nothing but German when talking to her. I was only eight when she died so my memory of her is this old lady who would invite my brother and myself into her bedroom for a lemon drop and talk to us in German. She could understand some English but never liked to use it.
thank you for any help you may have. If I find anything else out I will forward it also.
Thanks
Barb

I have a Charlotte Loretta Muenchow, Father is Karl. She married August Knaak. They were married in 1860 in Germany and immigrated in 1888. They farmed near Round Prairie, Todd, Minnesota. Her daughter Louise Marie married L P "Pete" Diedrich and then in about 1906 moved to Eastern Montana. She lived there until her death in 1940. Her father-in-law Pete Sr lived with her until his death about 1920.

Surnames: Muenchow, Steuck
I have Charlotte Loretta Muenchow Knaak as the aunt of my 2g-grandfather, Gustav Muenchow. He was born in Pomerania in 1860 and immigrated in 1883 to Todd County, Minnesota, where he married Augusta Steuck, whose mother was Fredericka Muenchow. I don't know if I've found evidence that your Charlotte Loretta is actually a sister of Ernst Muenchow or whether it's a working theory on my part, but the details do seem to add up.

My grandfather and his cousin always insisted that Gustav's birthplace was "Persanzig," which was located in Neustettin, Pomerania, and transferred to Poland after WWII.
