I know Of a Piro family with names like Frank, Steve, Carl, James. Diffirent from my family whose names are Michael's, John's, Joseph's and Nicholas.

My Grandfather and grandmother came from Ischia in 1905. Perhaps you can add some history to the Piro name for me. Is it posssible that we are related to Napoleon's such as you.

I find this all very interesting.

Any info you could email would be great. I have limited family members to contact.
I know that Frank Napoleon was supposedly born in Corsica, Italy. His father died and
his mother went into a convent. Frank was sent to America to live with an Uncle. The
Uncle was supposed to send him to school but put him to work instead. I believe he was
in Oklahoma, then Tx. He married an English woman by the name of Eddie. They had 13 children.
I am missing a few names but here is what I have: Frank, Gene, Joe, Mary, Sidney, Margaret, Rita,
Bridgette, Theresa, Michael (used his middle name (Richard). I hope this helps someone else.

I am just starting this search but as I receive info I will gladly share it.
Right now the only info I have is that Frank Napoleon came to America when he was a child
and I am having a difficult time tracking down what year he came here. I have no info right now
on anything from Italy. Good Luck

Looking for history on father's family. My grandfather came from Italy as a young boy. Stories have been told that he was sent to USA to live with relatives but eventually ended up on his own as a youngster. Relatives did live in Niagara Falls, NY. Grandfather's uncle (we believe) dropped the "e" off the end of Napoleone and became Napoleon to avoid discrimination at that time. Would be grateful for any information that you may have to try and piece together any family history that may be out there.

Hey Terri
I'm the daughter of Frank Napoleon. I have been researching the Napoleon/Piro name for some time and have not been able to find anything other than the information that the aunts and uncles have given me. Have tried to contact certain people in Italy without much luck. Grandpa Frank Napoleon came from the island of Ishcia in about 1903. I found him on the Oklahoma census for 1910 living with his Uncle Joe Piro. I'll be glad to share with you whatever I find. Keep in touch and if you find anything let me know.

I would appreciate any info you could send me. Am I to understand that you would be the daughter of the oldest of the 13 children? If so have you ever gone to the Napoleon family reunions in Texas?
Thanks again for the info if I find out more I will also send it your way.

Terri,
Mary is the oldest followed by Joe and then Frank who was my dad. Yes I have gone to the reunions and I'm sure we have met. Didn't go to the last one though. Richard was to one who gave me the information many years ago when I started this research. I understood that he had it written down somewhere. Don't know where it is today.
You can e-mail me direct at pad@nol.net and I can give you more info.
Glad to talk to you,
Phyllis
