I believe Robert Oehmig was my grandmothers brother and father's aunt. My grandmother's name was Louise (Oehmig) Schmidt and she lived in St. Clair Shores, MI for many years. I believe Robert lived on a street called Shady Lane in St. Clair Shores or East Detroit with his wife Emily. He died many years ago, she (Emily) would have died relatively recently. Her daughter moved her from Marlette MI (where she had lived by herself for many years) to a nursing home several years ago. I have a Oehmig family history that goes back to the 1500's and have visited the family home in Neidenstein, Germany (near Heidleburg) several years ago with my grandmother's sister, Hedwig Oehmig who lives in Manneheim, Germany. On that trip I found out that prior to the 1500's that the Oehmig family had been French Protestants (Hueghonots sp??) who left France to escape harsh treatment and moved to Neidenstein, Germany. I will look on the family history and see who was my grandmothers' grandfather as soon as I get to the safety deposit box. I will also look to see if I can find her (Emily's) daughther's name and address for you. I used to have it.

I will also check to see if my grandmother had a brother, uncle etc. named Rudolph. By the way the Oehmig family history was done by Emily's daughter and given to me by my grandmother.

I have been trying to track Emily for 4-5 years, my grandfather was Rudolph Oehmig who lived in Detroit and after he married Anna Brumm they lived in Owosso.
I have my grandma's autograph book, and one page was signed by Emil Oehmig, I have never found out who he was.
A man in Florida sold me a copy of his Oehmig history, which had pictures of my grandfather and his father, also brother and sister.
