There aren't very many Osbons are there. My fathers dad was named Larkin Abner Osbon - Born: 05/22/1869, Died: 04/27/1914. he was married to Lelah Mayfield Osbon, Born: 11/20/1881, Died: 01/06/1914. Lelah died in childbirth, and Larkin died several months after her death, back then they claimed he died of a broken heart, he probably had a heart attack. My father, his 2 brothers and 1 sister were raised by their granparents who were very poor. I don't know where they originally came from or anything else. There is probably no connection, but there it is!! Wanda Osbon Silen.

There are 2 confirmed Larkin Osbons in my family tree. Larkin M. No2: Larkin Abner Osbon was the son of Harrison Newton Osbon, son of William Osbon, listed above. He was born May 22, 1869 in Winn, louisiana, and died April 27, 1914 in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana. He married Millie Lela Mayfield in 1904. They had 9 children, 4 of whom lived. One of them was my father, Larche Mayfield Osbon.

Larkin M. Osbon/Osborne b.1818 in Franklin County, IN.,son of William Thomas Osbon/Osborne, b. 1792 in Scott Ct. KY. and Hannah Osborn, b. abt. 1796 in Scott CT. KY. Larkin married (Rachel Mingles,b. 1822),in Union County, IN. on 19, Nov. 1840.

William Thomas is son of Thomas Osbon/Osborne, b. 1763 in Frederick Ct. MD., married twice. First Wife, name unkown, second wife, Sarah ??? Thomas died in Union Ct. IN. Aug. 1838. They had 6 children by first marriage and 8 children by second marriage.

First marriage-James, John, William Thomas, Catherine, Levi, Rebecca.

Second marriage-America, Mary, Sabra Ann, Sarah, Thomas, David, Garrison Elizabeth Ann.

Harrison Newton Osbon/Osborne, son of William Thomas Osbon/Osborne b. Nov 1821 in Union Ct, IN. married Rachel Emerlin Jenkins, 20 April 1857, Columbia, LA. Rachel b. Mar 1839. Harrison d. 6 Jun 1896 in Chenerie, LA. Rachel d. 22 Feb. 1902.

I am not sure if these are the same persons.
Let me know what you think.

My Great Great Grandmother was Mary Osborne, second child of Thomas Osbon and Sarah ????(his second marriage) She married Daniel Stephenson. The 1830 Union Ct. Census has them listed as Thomas Osborne family, and I was able to fit all the children into the age brackets except for one female 60-70, which I think could be Sarahs'mother.

I have confirmed all information yet, but it looks like my family line, I am just not sure if it is Osbon or Osborne.

e-mail me.

It sounds like we are talking about the same family. My first Cousin, Ralph Osbon,s wife has been working on the Osbon geneology for about 12 years. She has it fully researched and the data entered on her PC. You and she need to get together. Ralph's e-mail address is rosbon13071@email.msn.com. he lives in West Monroe, LA. I am located in Camden Arkansas. Hope this helps.
