My great great grandmother was Almira Ovenshire. She was born in New York abt. 1824 and died in Adrian, Lenawee County, Michigan, April 13, 1908. She was married to Benjamin Belcher. They moved to Michigan abt. 1840 or so. Her father was Charles Ovenshire and her mother was Margaret Leek (Leach). They were both born in New York or Penn., probably in the tri-county area near Elmira, New York. Does anyone now of this family?

I am currently researching the Ovenshire family from Eaton county MI. Because I have just begun this I know very little. However, I have found a Charles Ovenshire listed in the land records.
I have found Richard Ovenshire who married Mary Ann Miller. Their daughter Cora married William Wright. William and Cora moved to Manistee County.
I am still trying to find out who Richard's parents were and so on.
If any of this sounds familar please contact me.
