Hi Bob,
Do you know if Frank Pacer moved to Chicago? My uncle
was Frank Pacer, married to my mother's sister-Ann Depta.
Frank died in 1972 and was born around 1905, I don't know where.

Good to hear from a fellow Pacer. The family is so large that undoubtedly, a Frank did move to the midwest. However, the Frank that came to the US as part of the first wave of Pacers lived his whole life in the Buffalo NY area. I do have a record of a Frank who was born about that time, but not much other info right now. The Pacers that are the closest ot me are decendants of John. John had several brothers, one of which settled in Toledo, Ohio(I think his name was Jacob) and another brother , whose name I do not know yet, who settled in Milwaukee. Two other brothers settled in South America. The family was originally from Inowroclaw, Poland(or Germany, depending on the year). If you have any info, I'd love to hear about it. I have been doing research for about 7 years and have slowly started to accumulate a small archive. Hope to hear from you.

Bob,
I'm sorry to take so long to respond!
I'm afraid I can't tell you much more except for the names of Frank's children - Henry, Edward and Raymond.
The children were all born in Illinois. I'll keep digging and let you know if I find anything.

I am searching for information on my grandfather Theodore Pacer of Olean, Ny who passed in 1986 and was born in the early 1900's. He was married to Madeline Burdick. He had at least two brothers, one was named Walter. The family name was changed to Pacer from Wijahuski (or something similar) when my grandfather and his brothers entered the military. The Pacer last name was my greatgrandmother's maiden name. I am also looking for my long-lost half brother Stephen Pacer. He should be in his early thirties and the last time I had contact with him he was living in Castile, NY.

I just came across this message board about the Pacer name. My husband's grandfather was Anton Pacer, son of Stanley Pacer and Michalina Spychala. The family came to Chicago in 1906 from German Poland and I have been trying to find out where in Poland they came from. Have you done any research on the place in Poland your relatives came from? I was wondering if perhaps the Chicago & NY Pacer's might be connected.

Found your post searching Kurowski. I have just started looking into this surname. My great great grandfather was Andrzej Fafurowski. I believe his sister was Antonina Kurowski. I found some of her childrens baptismals at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Chicago. At the PGSA.org web site I also found that the child Maria Kurowski born 10-27-1876 had married Frank Wrzala in 1893. Frank Wrzala is mentioned on the obit for Antonina Kurowski. I am still looking into where they are from. Is any of this familiar?

Yes, this is my husband's family. Antonina Fafurowska was his great-great grandmother. She was the wife of Joseph Kurowski and their daughter Marianna Kurowska married Frank Wrzala on Sept.19, 1893 at St.Stanislas Kostka Church, as you already know. Frank & Marianna's daughter Frances Wrzala married Anton Pacer in 1916 and they had 1 son Leonard, my husband's father. Please e-mail me at home so we can exchange information.

The Kurowski family is indeed a part of the Pacer family, however, they are seeded pretty deep in the system and it probably will take me years to get to that part of the family.
Goodluck with your search and please e-mail wit anything that you think Imight be able to help you with.

You definately want to get in touch with Bonnie Pacer (follow message thread). She has been researching this side of the tree. I am not sure how her searching has been on the Pacer side, but I'm sure she would be glad to hear from you. My connection goes back much further & she is the wife of a 4th cousin. We found that Joseph Kurowski & Antonina Fafurowski are from Gulcz, Poland. Antonina was the sister of my great great grandfather, Andrzej Fafurowski.
