Researching familytree (novice). Currently
spelt PETROWSKI believe it should be PIOTROWSKI.

Came from Poland to Canada for Manitoba land
grant in mid 1800's.

Anyone else out there searching this line?

thanks cindy

Sometimes the names are misspelled during the census taking process. The spelling of Pietrowiak has varied from Pietrowiak to Petrowiak to Petroviak to Pietrow to Pietroviak. contact me and I'll advise what names I have.

GGF - Frank PIOTROWSKI - born GALICIA POLAND 1884, immigrated to Canada, via New York, to Montreal for a land grant in Manitoba

I have only recently started my family geneology so any help I can get from anyone is greatly appreciated

Hi: My father came over in 1926. He spelled
his name Piotrowsky. I believe it should have
been Piotrowski as well. He had 2 brothers
Walter and Paul. My dad's first name was
Stanislaw. So far I have only found the boat
he came over on as I have his original papers
which he signed his name as Piotrowsky
but Imigration Spelled his name Pistrofsky
which was totally wrong. He eventually changed
it to Piotrofski.

Your message caught my eye as I have stalled in my search for my husbands gg grandfather. His name was Ignatius (or Ignatz or Ignacy) Piotrowski. The only info anyone has is that he came Thru Canada before 1884 and eventually settled in michigan. He married Veronica Payak. If you have any info or might be able to help me find immigration records I would appreciate it. I dont have any names for siblings of Ignatius.

Hi Julie,
My mother's grandfather was Ignatius Piotrowski. Her mother, Daughter to Ignatius and Veronica, was Blanche who married Ernest Nelson. They had 10 children and lived in Bay City, MI. I had my mother pick her oldest sister's brain for Ignatius' siblings. The only one she could think of was Theophil. Not sure who he married, but I can work on that one if you'd like. I do know that Theophil had two sons, Felix and Casimer. I just started dabbling in genealogy, any piotrowski/pajak(payak) info you'd like to share would be appreciated. Thanks
