I am looking for information on my father's family, the Rabeys. My father was James Thomas Rabey; his father was Job Savage Rabey; his father was Andrew Jackson Rabey; his father was Kader Rabey. The family that far back was primarily in Nansemond County, VA and Gates County, NC. Any information you may have would be appreciated.

I am researching the Raby/Rabby/Rabey name in La. There happens to be a Cader/Kader Raby in the early La. Census. If you go to, and select the state info with the first name spelled with a C or K and variations of the last name, you might find some info.

Just a suggestion.

Just read your message re research on Raby family in LA. (I'm a novice on geneaology, so please excuse me.) Kader Raby was my ggggranfather. He moved to Coryell County, TX. from East Felicia Parish, LA. (I don't know exactly when, but can find out from my Great Aunt.)The Raby Ranch in Coryell Co. was a big outfit 100+ years ago. I just found a fragment of information yesterday in the Texas Archives re land bounties issued during the Republic of Texas (1836-1845). Kader was issued a land grant, for what, I'll have to go to microfiche. This may have been the origin of the Raby Ranch. I'd love to hear from you if you have info on the Raby Family. Thank You, jean
