I am searching for any info. on a Katheryn Rediger who married a Joseph Stalter b. 1807 from Kirchbacker Hof, Zweibrucken, Prov., Bavaria, Germany. Came to America with family in 1854 to Meadows, IL or Gridley, IL
Joseph died 22 Oct. 1888. I believe they were Mennonites. Also looking for her near kin, a Barbara Rediger, also married to a Joseph Stalter who was a Mennonite Minister.Their children also married into the Lehman Family in Germany, some of whom emigrated to America with them. If anyone has anything on this family, I would appreciate help. Thank you. Contact me at this Email or write to me at 3235 W. 6920 S., West Jordan, UT 84084. LB

I live in Bloomington, IL. I too belong to the Redigers who were from Germany and Alsac Loraine France. I have obituaries of Fannie P. Schmitt Rediger(we believe her maiden name was Peter-schmidt) She was married to A Benjamin B. Rediger, son of Joseph and Lena Rediger born in Amt Lahr near Baden, Germany in the year of 1848. I also have his obituary. They are burried in the Waldo Mennonite cemetery near Meadows, Il. I also have a Catherine Burgelbaugh married to a John Peter-Schmitt who was a mennonite minister. I feel that we must have a connection with these families. Let me know.

I am Marlene Rediger-Holcomb. I live in Bloomington,Il. I am a great granddaughter of Jacob Rediger and Fannie Peter-schmidt who were from the Baden Germany area. I can go back several generations on Fannie's line but can not go back further than Jacob. Let me know if this is a similar Rediger line.

My family has passed down to me the name of Magdalena
Rediger m. to Johanne Teuscher. She was born
Aug. 5,1838 and died July 7,1917. in IL. That is all
I have on her but would like to know more.
I do come from the Mennonite back ground so your post
sounded promising.

I am of the Burgelbaugh lineage. It now has been changed to Birckelbaw. Katherine "Katie" Burgelbaugh was married to John Smith of Butler County, Ohio Could he possibley be a brother to Fannie P. Schmitt (?smith). So many names were not spelled correctly or changed. I am interested in Catherine or Katherine Burgelbaw's obituary?
Would you be willing to share it?

I have the obituary for Catherine and also an old picture of her and John P. Schmidt. She changed her name to Smith during the war with Germany...but her maiden name was Burkelbaw and she was married to a Minnonite Minister: John Peter-Schmidt. I also have his obituary. I would be glad to share them with you if you send me a SASE I will mail copies to you. Marlene Holcomb 206 Tanner Bloomington, Il 61701
