Midge,
According to my sources Henry is not the son of Val and Maria Sarah
Val and Marie Sarah moved from PA and settled in Montgomery Co., MD near Georgetown between 1768-76.
They had a Son Daniel Born Nov 3 1755.
I am related to a Val b 1758 PA and d. 1840 Butler Co. PA.
He had a son named Henry b 1783 Butler Co. PA.
There is a Henry b. ~ 1760 in PA m. Elizabeth who has a son John Henry Ransel b 1797 Myerstown, Lebanon, PA.
He maybe a brother to my Val and possibility cousins to the other.
I have some more info if you want.

Thanks for the information Chris. Everything seems to point to him not being their son. Will have to keep looking. Thanks again.

Was Reintzel changed to Ransel from Germany to US? Is Conrad Reintzel and Conrad Ransel the same person? Conrad Ransel married Susan Hanlan. Among the 10 children they had were boys named John and Henry. A daughter, Rosanna, is my great grandmother.
