I have been searching in vain for the German origin of my ancestor, Johann Friedrick Renschler. He came to the US from Wurtemburg about 1854 and settled in southern Indiana. I am currently looking at every LDS film for Wurtemburg which has any mention of Renschlers. Can anyone help?

I am assisting Charles Renschler, currently a resident of Peabody Retirement Community, with his genealogy. His family is from Jefferson County,Indiana. His grandfather, Frederick J. Renschler, was married in Jan., 1878 (in Jefferson County) to Mary J. Brandmier.
Charlie knows very little about his ancestors. You have obviously done some research on the family. Would you please assist us.
Thanking you in advance.

I have information on Johann Renschler who migrated to the Dakotas from Russia. I am seeking information tracing him through Russia from Germany in early 1800s. Migrated to U.S. in 1880s.

My Johann Renschler was m. to Christinia Beutelspacher.
He died in Eureka SD in 1909.
Is this the same Johann? I think there were 2 or 3
Johanns in this area in the 1890s.

I don't know if this means anything or not, but my grandfather's name was John Renschler Jones and he was born in Indiana on 3/6/1898. I looked up the name Renschler because it seems likely to be a family surname used as a middle name. Thank you for the information you left on this site. I have something to check into now. I'll let you know if I run across any information due to this resource. Thank you.

John,
I have a lot of data on a variety of spellings while searching on my surname. If you can provide any additional data such as Birthdate, Wife's name, children's names, etc.. I might be able to cross reference it somewhere. One branch ended up spelling it as Renschlier, so there may be hope. Do you know what his parents or siblings names were? Anything might help.
