My father is Benard Joseph Saviano
who lives in Orting, Washington.

I am just beginning to look for information
on his family. I have some half brothers
and sisters I do not know anything about

I was born in Los Angeles, California in May
1965 to Benard Joseph Saviano and
Karen Fay Hamilton.

If you have relatives with the same surname,
please email me at saviano@mstar2.net.

Hi,
My maiden name was Saviano. My Great-grandfather was Guiseppe Saviano (aka Joseph) died about 1968. He and my GGrandmother Giovanna (aka Jenny) died about 1956 had many children, some from before they immigrated to the US about 1904. I have heard 14, and 2 or more died. My grandfather was one of their sons Bennedetto(aka Bernardo,Benny) He died in January of 1963.

They originally spelled the name SAVAIANO and it is on the 1920 census this way. The 1930 census shows it with the spelling that you know. My grandfather was originally in Chicago, but settled fairly soon in Chicago Heights, Illinois as did his father and many of his siblings. Chicago Heights is a bout 1 1/2 hour drive directly south. It had several factories in the early part of the century. My Grandfather Benny and several of his brothers were very musical and played many instruments and had their own band. My grandfather played the saxophone, clarinet, guitar and banjo. He played in 2 bands and gave lessons on the instruments and also worked full time in a factory.

I don't know if any of this will help you. If you have specific questions I will do my best to answer them.
