I am looking for an Ella Schneeberg (biological name). She lived in Wisconsin and would have been born in the 1890s or so. Please e-mail if you have information. Thank you.

Hello,
There is an Ella Schneeberg in the 1930 Wisconsin census, Portage county. My uncle married a Laura Wolf, whose father was George, and somehow they are connected with the Schneeberg's. A Lydia (possibly George's second wife?) and Edward Schneeberg are buried in Forest Cemetery, Stevens Point, Wisc, with my uncle, his wife and her son. and George Wolf.
Good Luck

I have Sneberg (also spelled Schneberg & Schneeberg) in my family - gr gr grandmother was Anna Schneberg b. Unetice, Czech Republic. Her son Petr Tollar/Tolar emigrated from Stenovicky Borek, C.R. to Chicago in 1882 with his wife & 4 kids. Any possible connection?

Hi Judy,

I noticed you have a Schneberg ancestor from the village of Unetice. You also mention the village of Bzi so I am assuming your Unetice is the one about 5 kilometers (or about 3 miles) west of Blovice. I have many ancestral villages between Plzen and well past Blovice. My g grandfather Josef Zima came from the tiny village of Bohusov, now the east side of Blovice, arriving in New York on May 22, 1880 on the ship Donau. He was passenger #938 and passenger #926 was Marie Schneberg, age 23. I assume my g grandfather knew, or was even related, to Marie. I have not done any research on Marie, but I assume she also came to Chicago. I also have the surname Balvin from that area and I have been doing joint research on the Balvin name in the villages of Chlumanky and Vlctejn with Wilma Balvin Malina who lives in Chelsea Iowa. Wilma, by the way, has Schneberg ancestors. I am also in contact with a Schneberg from the Plzen area who now lives here in a Chicago suburb. Please write me at jjzima@yahoo.com

I have many Schneeberg relatives from Chicago, who came from the Blovice Region, near Plzen. My great grandmother, Filomena, (Philomena) was born in Zakava, Blovice in 1859-60. Her husband, Matej Tyk, came from Prestice, near Plzen. I remember seeing the name Tolar in my research.

I'm interested in any info anyone has about other Schneebergs or the other names listed. Thanks!

Here's what I have on Schneberg from the Plzen area:
Vaclav Schneberg, b. abt 1778 possibly Bzi or Kocenice. Married Ludmilla Magdalena Fronk, b. in Unetice #5. Was cottager & day laborer in Unetice #5.
Their kids, all b. in Unetice #5:
Jan, 1807
Marie, 1808
Jan Krtitel, 1810
Vaclav, 1812
Anna, 1813
Katerina, 1816
Daughter Anna (1813) married widower Adalbert Tolar, b. 1794. He had 8 kids. Anna & Adalbert had 3 more, all b. in Vesela:
Ignac, 1844
Petr, 1845 - married Anna Silhanek
Katerina, 1847 - married Vaclav Kule

Any of that sound familiar? Vesela & Unetice are all in the area of Blovice & Zakava. Some of my Tollars were from Zakava. Filomena could be the daughter of one of Anna's brothers or perhaps a granddaughter. You can reply thru the message board or directly to me at skigranny@gmail.com.

Not sure if you're still looking, but I have an Ella Schneeberg born in 1889 from Wisconsin on my tree. She's my 2nd great grand aunt. Her parents were Heinrich Schneeberg and Sophia Bultmann, both from Germany.
