My Schremp family came from the Darmstadt area of Germany. I do not know what the name means, though.

My father was Wiliam Schremp (this generation dropped the second "p".
His father Wilhelm Schrempp born 9 April 1865 in Baden, Germany
Wilelm's mother was Louise Schremp born 1835 Baden.
Wilhelm and his wife, Elizabeth Zenz, had 6 children before he just disappeared about 1907 and was never heard of again. I would very much like to find out what happened to him. There are rumors that he deserted his family and moved "out west" and was a sheriff somewhere, but I can find no trace of him. His mother, Louise, died in 1905 in Lorain, Ohio. Shirley

Is it possible yout family dropped a FT along the way? Me and my sister are the only ones left in Holland with the name, I searched as far as 1774 but they still came from Holland. I do know that a Eva Schrempft got married on 28/12/1861 in Saint Louis Missouri. And there is mentioning of a Anna Maria Schrempft christening on 23/6/1696 she came from Baden Baden Germany like what this Shirley Schremp was writing. And a Franciscus Josephes Schrempft christening on 20/3/1705 Catholic from Baden Baden.Maybe you should search in St Louis do let me know what came out of it. Bye Emmy

Hi my name is Sharon Bingham and I am looking for information on Schrempf or Schrempfts originally from Germany. My great-grandfather was named Albert Lindy Schrempf and his father was Charlie or Charles Schrempf. They were both born on Newburyport, Massachussetts in the United States but I can't find any other information. Can anyone help me? Thanks.
