I am tracing the shaw family of england,uk.
Alvis Shaw: born Nov.28,1884. Mother's name:Emily Burrows Shaw. Father's name: Eli Shaw.
Alvis born in York County,Quebec St. Elland,USD.Death: May 4, 1963 @ County Borough of West Hartlepool.
This is my mother's family. She came to U.S. in 1948-49 to marry my father, a u.s. GI. Barbara Shaw was in the British Army.(Women's Auxillary.)She was born in 1921, in West Hartlepool, England. She is currently 77 years old. Just tracing this for my own info as the family became estranged after Barbara left England. I also became estranged from my mother at age 5. Any info about these roots would be appreciated. Barbara's mother's maiden name was Hussey.

I am sure that Thomas was born in Ohio. His family later ended in Indiana. We are fraom his son Abel Shaw who married Mary Ann Skinner. Linda

Linda, I wonder if this is connected to
my husband's grandfather, Thomas Shaw of
Muncie, Indiana. Jack's father's name
was Orrin Abel Shaw...which seems like quite
a coincidence. I don't have a birthdate
for Thomas, but I should think early 1800s.
Any further info you can give me would be greatly
appreciated. Thank you!
