Dear Sir,

While working one day I came across a family message board and saw your message. I too have wondered about the Shupe family. Where we came from, what we did all of that stuff. I will try to dig some stuff up about us and we can see what we've got.

My grandmother was Fannie Bell Shupe. Fannie was the daughter of Fielding M. Shupe and Julia A. Creager. There is a chance that we are related

My Shupe line used to be spelled Schaub

My great-great grandmother was Sarah Melinda Shupe, daughter of Elizabeth Shupe. Elizabeth was the daughter of John William Shupe and Hannah Jane South Shupe.

The Shupes, or Schaubs, in my family line immigrated from Europe during the 1700's to Pennsylvania. From there they went into Virginia, then into northwestern North Carolina, where I still live today. I don't have any of my info in front of me at the moment, so all of the above is from memory. You can e-mail me or write me if you wish. My e-mail address is: co_b_37nct@hotmail.com
My mailing address is: PO Box 1537, Newland, NC, 28657. I hope some of this info was useful.

Dear Sharon,
I have some information on the shupe's that I came from...my father was Stephen Ernest Shupe, his father was Edward Shupe.. he was a carpenter in Sparta/Niles north carolina and Galax virginia he married Lacruda May Shumate my fathers mother. there were 10 sibblings related to Edward there was a dispute and the family seperated some went to Galax, some to Fries, some to Sparta my father's aunt Lessie (her father)owned a store at edmonds NC she did not marry or have any children, she stayed with Millard stamper somehow they were related. Millard is a cousin to my father, if you write him he may be willing to help. Mr. Millard Stamper Rt.2 box 396 Galax Va 24333. I've heard stories that the shupe's are American Indian. not from Europe, the europeans sur named the indians.

Hello I have a Jacob Schubb and his Brother Michael Schub that came to America on the ship Hero on Oct 27, 1764. Michael's family changed their name to Shupe where Jacob's one son changed his name to Shoop. Could this be part of the family you are looking for. If so contact Pappylarry@aol.com
