I have not done much in long time, but want to get back at my family tree. My grandmother Katherine Bernadine Klockenga's mother was Jennie Vanderwerf 1872-1931. This is about all I have, any connections??

Hi!!!

I too am researching the Vanderwerf family. My husband's distant cousin married Adrian Vanderwerf. They lived in Narrowsburg, NY and never had any children, however, Anna did have a daughter, Dorothy, by her first husband.

It is our understanding that Adrian was a Dutch sailor and jumped ship, we believe, in NY harbor. He married Anna it is believed sometime in the late 1920s or 1930s.

Could our lines be related? Please email @ kksill@prodigy.net whether or not our lines are related.

Look forward to hearing from you soon!!!

I have lots of information on the Vanderwerf family including two William Vanderwerfs. One of the Williams lived in Kansas City, born about1900 and died about 80 years later. There are some holes in my data about William's grandchildren. Otherwise I think I have info going back 200 years and nearly every cousin born in 1900's
Is your William the son of Dick Vanderwerf of Lafayette, MN?

Surnames: Vanderwerf
My grandfather's name was William John Vanderwerf and he lived in Missouri. I beleive his father's name was Dick and if I recall right, he lived in or near Lafayette, Mn. William John was married to Ilene (my grandmother) and they had Howard (Bud), James Lee, Betty, Joanne, Shirley, Charles and Peggy. They divorced many years ago and Ilene married another man by the name of Murlo Dame. They lived at the Lake of the Ozarks. I'm trying to find out exactly how Ilene died. I know how William Vanderwerf died. He died in a car wreck near Marshall, Missouri. His son, James Lee Vanderwerf Sr. was my father. I was told Ilene (my grandmother) hemorrhaged to death around 1970 - 1971. My father died from complications from a major stroke brought on by aneurysms in the aortic artery in June 1989. I was just recently diagnosed with hypertension and collapsing veins and the Dr believes it could be heriditary from my paternal side of the family.

If anyone has any information about Ilene's exact cause of death or any info on the Vanderwerf family, please send me an email at Therese.Skinner@yahoo.com

Thank you.
