Hi Tiffany:
I just came across your message and want you to know that I am your Aunt Doris, your Mom and I are sisters.
I have not seen you since you were about three or four years old. You probably do not even remember meeting me, I am sure. It was your birthday and you and your brother and Mom and Dad and their friends were visitning your Grandma Van in Schenectady, NY. I am anxious to meet you again to see for myself what a nice young lady you have become.
Love, Aunt Doris

My mother's maiden name is Van Vranken. She is descended from the two Van Vranken brothers who came to the US from the Netherlands in the 1600's, and settled in the Albany/Colonie area of New York. I have quite a bit of info that I would be willing to share, although I must admit I am really pretty new to this. Feel free to email me for any info.

What was your g-grandfather's first name? I have very little on Van Vranken's born outside of NYS but I will check my records if you can give me a first name. Also, just out of curiousity, why did the people who adopted him allow him to keep his surname but drop one letter? That seems very unusual.

AT some time the Van Vrankens moved out to
Oklahoma. I have plenty of info on the
Oklahoma family, but nothing before 1939
when my father, Claude Earl Van Vranken, was
born.
