My mother-in-law, Anna Marie Vix (Perlich) had a brother named Ralph Vix. Her brother, fought in WW2 and perished overseas in that big battle at Normandy Beach. Would your grandfather be one and the same? You may reply at my e-mail address:

If they are from North Dakota, then they are they same family members. I had invited Perlichs to my wedding last year.

My Vix family was from New York City too. Michael Vix (born 1839-from Germany) had a son, George, born 1868 and three daughters, Anna, Elizabeth and Margaret. Any connections do you think?

Lynn, I don't know of a connection with my Vix line and your Michael Vix, though Vix is not a very common name and I suspect we may find a link if we can get more info. The oldest info I have on my Vix line was in my posting... I had come across your Michael Vix a while back... I don't have a note abt the source, probably 1880 census... here is what I have... Michael Vix born abt 1839 in Baden, his wife Margaret (maiden name unknown) born abt 1850 in Baden, their children George born abt 1868 in NY, Margaret born abt 1876 in NY and Elizabeth born abt 1878 in NY... (Anna wasn't in that info... what are her dates ?) Given the closeness of dates, I suppose its possible that your Michael Vix (b1839 in Germany) and my Jacob Vix (b1828 in Germany) could be brothers or cousins, but I don't have any info beyond Jacob's dates. Have you anything else ? Regards, Jeff

Thanks for your reply.
My Michael Vix was born Jan. 30, 1839 in Baden Germany. He had a first wife whose name I do not know and they had George Vix (bJan1, 1868). He married my 2-great grandmother Margaret (Margarethe) Eckel (bJuly 28, 1850 in NY) on 9/22/72 in New York City. They had three girls, Margaret (1875), Elizabeth (1878), and Anna (1889). Michael died of a self inflicted gunshot August 7, 1896. I have his death certificate. I have their marriage cert. too and his parents are listed as Johann Vix and Margaretha Jokar or Jokars.

My 2-great grandfather, Michael Vix had a son from a previous marriage to my 2 great grandmother. His name was George Vix-born 1868. Could this be any connection? He married a woman named Anna Trinkaus and they had daughters.
