I am trying to trace information on the Watley family. There is connection with northern Ireland and some members of the family may have emigrated to australia. There is also connection to Johnston - it seems that Robert Watley married an Isabel Johnston. They had two sons, robert and James, these two sons may have emigrated. Any information on the Watley name would be most welcome. Please contact me on my email address. Thank you!

I searching for information about the Watley family and Mercer. My Grandmother, Stella Mercer, married Richard Watley.

Stella was borned December 25, 1902. I don't know where. I'm told that the Mercer came from Georgia.

Richard Watley was born June 30, 1898.

John Mercer was my Great Grandfather. He was European. I think his wife and my Great Grandmother's name is Maude who was African American.

Hello, are you the Ray Truckle Wattley I have e-mailed before a few years ago? We are continuing our reserch and went to St Kitts at Easter this year. We spent a whole day at the government records office and with the Bishop if St Kitts looking at the Church of England registers for the Island. We have a huge amount of information that we have not looked into yet as my husband and I work full time and can only do a little research when we are on holiday. We met a lot of people on St Kitts who said that the Wattley family was very prominent on both islands. Please keep in touch as I believe it was you who gave me information via another source about a Wattley jumping ship in St Kitts hundreds of years ago but we cannot go further as we do not know your source or the name of the ship. Sandra wattley.

Hello..great to hear from you and yes, I think we did talk sometime ago.
I still havnt had much success with my research but I have at least found several names of my father's brothers.
We are actually off on holiday in the morning for a week but will contact you as soon as we return.
It has finally been confirmed who my father was, Albert Douglas Wattley born 1919. His parents were Victor Wattley (possibly born in London) and Eliza Chapman. Albert was the brother of at least 11
We have been in touch with my cousin Emile Wattley on Nevis and their daughter Cindy from New York.
My half brother Ian himself went to Nevis and St.Kitts afew years back and met up with several Wattleys whilst he was there.
Trouble is...apparently there is a land arguement going on over there and they were (and still are) very suspicious of us over in England!! I think they think we are jumping on the band wagon!!
Anyway....we are back on the 4th July and would love to hear more from you. our email address is ray.truckle@btinternet.com
Bye for now...Ray and Marlyn
P.S. I will say....we have not been able to verify at all the story about a Wattley jumping ship...My cousin who we 'found' in Leicestershire England lived in Nevis and was the daughter of Wilfred Wattley..my dad's brother. She has given me some information but came to England in 1958. Saying that she does go back to Nevis for a few months each year.
