Hi Shirley!
I am not an expert on this family, but my grandpa Arthur Milhan's sister married a Robert Weipert. They farmed near Lansing, Allamakee county, Iowa. Robert had an older brother named John Paul Weipert who was born in 1854 in Ohio and married Hanna Niedecker around 1895/6. John P. and Hanna farmed near Lansing, Allamakee county, Iowa from 1900 - 1920 (probably longer). They had six children: Florence (b.1896 ND), Martha (b. 1899 IA), Paul (b. 1902 IA), Samuel (b. 16 Feb 1904 IA d. Mar 1973), Mathilda (b. 10 Aug 1907 IA d. Mar 1985), and John (b. 1915 IA).
I do know that John Paul Weipert's parents were Paul and Magdalena (Pfeiffer) Weipert. Paul and Magdalena farmed in Lansing township, Allamakee county, Iowa. I have more information on them and their children if are interested.

Larry, I can not begin to express how happy I am to get this information. Florence Weipert was my maternal grandmother. She died 2-26-1987 in Jacksonville, Fl. Her last name on her death cert. is Piland, apparently after my grandfather, Frank Ross was drown, she remarried (?) I have a whole family line on Helena Niedecken. But nothing, untlil now on John Weipert. I would like to have any all info you may wish to share, one thing that I am curious about is where is Helena (Lena) (Hanna) buried, I know she died in 1945, but that is all I know. My mom is alive, but she is a poor historian. I also have some information about the Ross family from Allamakee county. Are you in that area? Thank you again for the information, I will share my information with you, if you will let me know what all you need or would like to know.

Hi Shirley!
I am glad to help out. I am living in Las Vegas, Nevada right now. I was born and raised in Riceville, Iowa about 60 miles west of Lansing.
I don't know for sure where Helena/Lena/Hanna is buried for sure, but my guess would be at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery in Lansing. I can attempt to find out for you.
I will need an email address so I can send you some information.

Hello, I am hoping that you might be able to help me. I have for years been trying to track down this line of my family tree. It wasn't until today that I decided that I might have the wrong spelling of the surname I was looking for. I had Weifurt/Weifert. I put that last name into the soundex at Ancestry.com and Weipert came back as a possible spelling. Then of course I saw where your Weipert's were at in Iowa so I was made the connection. My GGGreat grandfather, Anton Schwarzkopf married a Katharina Weipert. She was born 1838 in Edelbach, Bavaria, Germany. Her father was a John Weipert that was born 1817 in Baden, Germany. He died Aft 1880 in Lansing, Allamakeee Co., Iowa. we believe that his wife's firat name may have been Frances.

Hi Steve!
You will be pleased to know that I can help you. More importantly, you have helped three or four Weipert researchers nail down an actual location in Germany other than Baden or Bavaria!
John Weipert, Sr., was born 7 Mar 1816 in Baden, Germany. He died 3 Mar 1897 near Lansing, Allamakee Co., IA. His wife was Franziska (last name unknown). She was born 22 Sept 1820 in Baden, Germany and died 9 Apr 1875 near Lansing. They are both buried at Gethsemane Catholic cemetery in Lansing.
The family arrived in America on May 17, 1854. I know of Katherina Weipert, I had her born Nov 1843 (census info). She had a sister, Mathe, born 1850 in Germany, and a brother, Ferdinand, b. 29 Jun 1848 in Germany. He died on 24 Aug 1908 in Lansing. He married a Helen Rippenberger.
In any case, you have found a connection. Email me at LDShoger@aol.com and I should be able to get you some info one way or the other.

Greetings. I am a descendant of John and Ferdinand Weipert of Allamakee County. I traveled to Lansing as a child with my grandmother (granddaughter of Ferdinand) and, with the help of my great aunt, gathered information on this family in Allamakee County. Would love to share information.

Jim,
I would love to obtain information you have on the Weiperts. The name Goetsch has come up in several of my family tree connections so we might have a connection there as well.
Email me at LDShoger@aol.com and we can figure out the best way to pass information.
Thanks! Larry Shoger

I am doing this research for a friend of mine, Cindy Weipert Vanderbilt. She grew up in Lansing, Iowa and would like her family history done. her father was Thomas Weipert, the son of Sam Weipert and Lillian Tippery. Can you make a connection between the Weiperts mentioned here and her family, would appreciate any help with this.
