Seeking information on my great-grandfather Edward Louis (Lewis) Wickering. His mother's name was Theodora Bernardina Nailles Wickering. I have seen his last name as Van Wickering also. He married Emma Mary (Mae) Myers and had 2 children Dorothea Grace and Harry Louis. They married in approximately 1908. Emma was from Harmarville, PA. My great-grandfather was supposedly from Grand Rapids, MI.

My name is Raymond J. Wickering My father was Jake Henry Wickering his father was Edward Wickering and his Mother was Nellie Kasterand I beleive Edward's father was Fredrick Wickering. I was told that they immigrated to the United States in the early 1900's probably between 1910-1920. Not very much information on them I know that Nellie died when Jake was two and Edward about two years later from a broken heart. All the children Jake,Peter and Fredrick except for a sister who was adopted were sent to a orphanage and spent their summers working on their uncle John's farm. The sister supposidly was a concert Pianist but the brothers didn't talk much about her and more or less disowned her as they went to meet her when they were older and they were snubbed because of the way they looked from the clothes they wore from living in the orphanage. Peter and Fredrick lived in Michigan all their lives in Grand Rapids and Lancing. Jake went into the Army during World War 2 until the end. He settled in Washington State in the town of Port Angeles with Harriet Viola Simmons and had two children Elaine and Raymond Elaine passed away in the 1970's from complications caused by cerebial Palsy. I left Port Angeles in 1969 after joining the Air Force. I was in the Air force for 21 years then retired in 1990. I have two children Allen and Marissa there was another child Nichole who passed away in 1984. I have two cousins Terry and Jack Wickering who live in the Grand Rapids Lancing area. All we know is that our Family originated from Amsterdam or possibly Germany.

Do you have any idea what his full name was? The Edward we are looking for should be Edward Lewis (Louis?) Wickering possibly.
