Hi!

I'm an Iowa City, Iowa Wissink who lives and works in Papua New Guinea (just north of Australia in the Pacific). I am interested in finding more about the Wissink side of my family. Will write more later.

Greetings from California! I just saw your message on the Wissink message board and thought I would respond. I was born and raised in SW Minnesota, and moved to CA when I was in HS. There are a number of Wissinks in the midwest, i.e. Minnesota, Iowa, & South Dakota corner. I am also interested where other Wissinks are, and if they are related.

I am studying the Wissinger and related surnames Wisinger, Wesinger, Wessinger, Wiesinger, Wiessinger, Weisinger, Weissinger, Weisiger, Wysinger, Wiziger, and others. Have evidence of the surname back to 1145. Interested in learning if you have seen variations in your surname and any connection to my surname.

There are quite a number of us in the "tri-state corner" as you said. Unfortunately, there are two different lines, which makes geneaology pretty difficult. If I were ever able to track back further than what we have, maybe it would prove that both lines are related... but for now, I have to go by what I have. You can take a look here: http://www.users.qwest.net/~jwissink/

I am currently looking for some contacts in NL, but any I've found so far, seem to be from a different line of Wissinks... you can check my website here: http://www.users.qwest.net/~jwissink/

If you have any information relating to this line, it would be MUCH appreciated, as I'm pretty much at a standstill.

My mother's maiden name is Wissink. Her parents were Daniel and Wilma Wissink from Holland, Nebraska. I believe her parents came from Wisconsin. do you have any information about Nebraska Wissinks?
