My Father was born in Texas; Elbert P. Wyche II. He now lives in California. My great-grandmother Elease Moore married a Wyche and still resides in Bay City. Interrested to hear about any info you have on Bay City or Texas Wyche's.

What was your grandfathers full name. I resid
e in Pearland. We know some of the Wyche tree
left southern Georgia for south Texas. When I
moved to Houston there were only about 12
Wyche's in the book now there are about 50.

My great to the 3rd grandmother was Sally Wyche. She was born in Virginia but moved to Alabama with her son (my great to the 2nd grandfather) William Wyche Wilburn. William Wyce Wilburn moved to Yazoo County Mississippi in 1832 and purchased a plantation, which we still own today. Sally Wyche is descended from Henry Wyche (Rector de Sutton) More recently she is descended from Henry Wyche. Where in Mississippi do you live, we are robably related. Regards, Nita

Read your messages under Alabama Wyches and Wyche planation. My grandmother was Sallie Wyche from Thomasville, Georgia (Thomas County). Her father was Henry Wyche (b.1812-d.about 1891). The Wyches started several plantations in this area. Littleton Wyche,Henry's father, started Mill Pond Plantation, which still exists. Henry Wyche owned Melrose and later Cedar Lawn. Today, Melrose has been restored and functions as an elegant Bed and Breakfast inn. The owners have preserved the history by naming the rooms for the early owners along with many old pictures. MELROSE is of special interest to me as it was there my grandmother was born. I visit there each time I go to Thomasville. The name has been changed to MELHANNA. ( combining Melrose and Hanna, a former owner). I am presently working on a biography of Henry Wyche so I was interested in your Wyche connections. I would love to swap stories with you.
If you are interested, is the web site for Melhanna.
