Keep in mind that Lorraine and Alsace are two large areas with many small villages. Do you have any more specific names of where he may have lived?
You could also check a site called Geneanet.org. I knew one town name of my family and thru this site was able to match the matriarch and patriarch. Then the fun began!
I don't remember any Witz/Utter family but I will look thru my pictures again.
Email again to pennysbasket@fuse.net if you find more.

I am wondering if you have any cemetery photos bearing the name D'Armand, Armand, Armond. My ancestors were said to have come from there, but I'm thinking not. But wanting to know if you have any with those names.

I am sorry, but I have no family name of Armond or variation in my group.
Have you been able to narrow the family to a more specific area or even a town? Alsace and Lorraine are two very large areas with oodles of small towns and cemeteries.
If you go to Geneanet.org and go to the specific area board, you may find someone in France who could help you make the connection and do lookups for you.
Good luck on your continuing journey.

I know your last posting was way back but you said you had the Muller name. We do not know his father's name but his name was Nicolas Muller born 1841 but he did name one son Wilheid (that is the spelling on the immigration records) and another Emil, His wife Christine Cron has on her death certificate Alace Lorraine France and her parents were Christian Cron and Christine Gerber- Cron. They immigrated to the USA in 1900
