For Betty: Quantrill Raiders: Interesting book Quantrill's War The Life And Times Of William Clarke Quantrill by Duane Schultz. Quantrill Raiders were civil war guerrillas in Lawrence, Kansas area in 1800's.

There is a man in Arkansas that has uncovered many things about Bill Quantrell living after the Civil War. I didn't believe it until he put me in my place a couple years ago. Seems that he was right and I was bad wrong believing History Books. His mail address is DKennedy70@Hotmail.com and he has a Quantrill . something also

There was a special on the History Channel last night about Qantree and his Raiders -- the program name is Vendettas and there is a different each night this week. You can probably log on to historychannel.com and perhaps order the tape -- it was a pretty good show.

Good evening... I read a book called 'Dynasty of Western Outlaws'... and I have been curious about the man they called "Bloodcreek Newcome" this book was suposed to be an actual account of events... I don't wish to believe but I would appreciate someone else acknowledgeing my inquery... have you ever heard anything about this man that supposedly ran with the quantrell gang in the late 1860's ? Was he a real man? should I investigate further? Thank you for listening... awaiting any response... Thanks. Deanna

I am also looking for information on where the raiders might have destroyed a whole settlement. My husband's great grandfather supposedly was found as a small boy alive while the settlement was destroyed and everyone killed but himself. He was unable to tell anyone what his last name was or the name his family, trying to find out where he was. He had been picked up by travelers on a wagon train. Any information would be appreciated.

I would like to think that all these people are only interested in history, but that's not the case. I am a Quantrell (formerly the Quantrills) and I am quite amused by some of the conjectures that people have. Maybe you should be reading his diary before assuming that "history" books are correct. Remember: anything that someone writes is only their P.O.V.
