I have been working for over four years on my Polish ancestors in Nebraska. Since both my paternal sets of grandparents are 100% Polish, I started keeping track of as many Poles as I came across. I also have info about lots of Bohemian and German families. I would like to swap info with anyone interested. Some names in my family are:
KALKOWSKI
MAJEWSKI aka MAIEFSKI
WESIERSKI
JAROSZ
JECHOREK
STOBBE
MORACZEWSKI
TYMA
MACIEJEWSKI
TUMA
BONCZYNSKI
LUKASIEWICZ
DYMEK
TOPOLSKI
KAMINSKI
KRAJEWSKI
ZIOLA
PETERS aka PIOTR
ZIELINSKI
BYDALEK

...to name a few! ; -)

You can add Drozd to your database. I'm first generation American from a Polish father and English mother. They emigrated to the States after WWII. We're military, so we're only in town for another year. Do you know anyone who'd be interested in taking a stab at translating a large stack of personal letters? Dad passed away in 1977 and we have many letters up until ~1963, but none of us know Polish!

I live in Northern Indiana and am trying to find out if the Bonczynski family here is related to the one in Nebraska. Do you have any information that ties them to the South Bend area?

Personally, I have not seen any connection from Nebraska to South Bend. You might try starting with the St. Stanislas Kostka records in Chicago. They are on microfilm and easy to find through the LDS and possibly through the Illinois Archives. Perhaps one of the Bonczynskis early on was baptized or married there and can be connected to one of the Nebraska Bonczynskis. Please do let us know if you make the connection! I do know there were some relatives of our Nebraska Poles in Lemont and Momence, IL.
