My grandfather's name was Manuel Pimental Soares. You can probably get in touch with the Hawaii Portuguese Society - Doris Naumu. I beleive she has the Soares genealogy. My aunt told me she is a relative too. My mom had 19 or 20 brothers and sisters and her grandfather was from Azores or Sao Miguel.
Try to google the Hawaii Portuguese Society and get Doris number.
Mahalo from Hawaii!

Hi I am also a relative and this is a long shot, but I was told that my great grandfather left home and changed the spelling of his surname from Soares to Soaris. I know he was born in Portugal. He had a son named Edwin who is my grandfather. I don't know his name but I would appreciate any information.
