I am trying to find information on an orphanage that was in operation in or around Phoenix in the early 1900s. It may have burned down sometime after 1920, but my information is sketchy.

my greatgrandmother was orphaned at a young age her father was the chief of the potawatomi tribe he past or something she ended up at a monestary and became a nun she married a mcgowan then a eugene cox not sure of her maiden name on her birthcert, all it said was squaw her catholic name i think was maddie katheryn juanita xavier cooper or copper she was born feb 22 1892 if you come across any info reguarding thic please let me know thankyou S,Dixon

My mother was placed in the Good sheperd School for girls when she was 12 years old. location Phx on northern and 18th street. the nuns moved to St. louis if you would like more info on that school e-mail me.
