i am trying to trace rose brennan, daughter of edward brennan. became a nursing nun in the first world war, received gallantry medal for work in belgium. any help would be much appreciated

Do you know where Rose was born and lived before she became a nun? It is likely that a Gallantry Award would have been recorded by the local newspaper at the time. Do you know the title of the award because the awarding country will probably have an official record.

If you think that Rose belonged to a convent in England or Wales, then the Catholic Family History Society has an Index of Nuns - its web-site is at http://www.catholic-history.org.uk/cfhs/

hi jim, thank you. yes we do know where rose was born, but not which order she entered. however, i will check out the catholic family history soc.
