One of my husband's maternal great great grandmothers was Caterina Altomare from Rogliano. She was born in 1816 and married Filippo Ferrauiolo. Their son Pietro was my husband's great grandfather
There are a lot of Altomare's in the records from Rogliano. Is there anyone whose ancestors come from Rogliano, Cosenza, Calabria, Italy?

I doubt if any info. I have will help you, but my paternal great-grandfather's name was Pietro Altimari married to Angela Cerenzia. They were from Calabria, a village named Petilia Policastro. Their three children were as follows: Domenic, Rose married to Carmen Curci, and Guiseppina(my paternal grandmother) married to Michele Garofalo. Please let me know if any of this sounds familiar. Thank you.

My name is Michelle(Morrone) Hoare. My Father's Mother was Rose Altimare. This is the spelling on her certificate of citizenship. They came from Cosenza, Calabria, Italy. I am still trying to find out if they spelled the last name correctly or if it is Altomare. My ather was Michele Morrone but was changed to Michael when he came over. My grandmother Rose was the daughter of Peter and Barbara DeLuca. She was married to John Morrone according to her death certificate. I don't know if any of our info matches but I thought I would try. My e-mail is mmhoare@aol.com if you think we have something here. Thanks Michelle

I believe that Filippo Ferrauiolo who was born in 1816 was born in Rogliano or Belsito which is near Rogliano. He married a Caterina Altomare. Their son Pietro married Maria Rosa Dodaro. Their son Antonio married a Carolina Baldino in the US. Their daughter Raffaela was my husband's mother. Hope this helps you.

Dear Frank:
My name is Peter Altomaro my mother always said our real name was spelled Altomare when my father came to America around 1907 our name was changed to Altomaro. Funny my father's name was Frank Louis Altomaro Most everyone is gone now so there is no way I can get any family information. All I know is that he was born in Calabria 1899 in or around Rosa or Cocenza. My mother's maiden name was Pauline Vescio. If anything rings a bell please e-mail.

Thank you pete

If your still out there send me a message to leniacono@hotmail.com. I have a spread sheet that takes Filippo Ferraiuolo back two more generations and also includes many of the decendants of those two generation above him. I sent it to the wrong person yesterday (someone that responded to your message, a Frank Luciani, who got all excited in vain) I hope for your sake you respond. It's good information. I am halfway through a project I took on of scanning, translated, indexing and putting into family groups 100 years of vital records from Rogliano. I previously completed same for Santo Stefano di Rogliano.
