Bernard also had a brother named Francis (Frank) I was told he worked on the railroad. I have been told my great grandparents were from Ireland, Counties Cork Mayo have been mentioned. When I was in Ireland, I found approximately 50 Guinan in a phone book In Wexford County. Anyone knowing about this, I would appreciated being contacted.

My father is Joseph Guinan Jr, son of Joseph who was the son of Bernard Guinan. I believe your father and my grandfather were brothers. My father has done some research on the Guinan family, and he might be able to help you...... Patti

Hi Patti from Dottie Guinan in Boston. Are any of your Guinan ancestors from this area? My grandfather, Patrick, was one of ten children, so I know there's a few relatives around. The name isn't that common, so I think we're all related distantly. Thanks

My ggrandfather (on my father's side), Thomas J. Guinan was born in Tipperary, Ireland December 21, 1865. I believe he could be the son of Patrick and Honoria (Ryan) of Killenaule. He immigrated thru Boston (sometime between 1880 - 1883) and eventually settled in Philly. Married Kate Fogarty and had 2 sons John b1898 and Percy b1894 and a daughter Katherine b1912. Interesting that on my MOTHER's side, her uncle married Helen Guinan who I believe to be one of Bernard and Susan's children. Helen was born abt 1903. Mom's uncle's name was Fred Desing. While my parents and grandparents were alive, we were never able to connect these two sides of the family.
Am looking for any information on Thomas Guinan.

This definitely seems to be my mother-in-laws family. She is Mary Ann Guinan who started thread initially. I am checking with her, but I was hoping we could compare notes.

My Grandfather was the Francis Guinan you've mentioned in your post. Francis Guinan lived in Philadelphia and had 5 children, Charles, Mary(Sissy), Helen, Rita and Catherine(Cassie). The two children that are still living are Rita Schour of Boca Raton, Fl and Cassie Grubb of Medford Lakes, NJ. I am the son of Charles E. Guinan who had 8 children that now live up and down the east coast. I live in Delaware and I've been given some information about the family tree which I'll be happy to share with you if you're interested. Please email at guinans@msn.com.
