I am also trying to get info on my grandparents. My dad, John Jarmilowicz, died Oct. 1995. My grandfather, Martin Jarmolowicz, died in 1963. My grandmother, Amelia (Petrowicz (?)) Jarmolowicz died in 1978. I know that they both came to this country in the early 1900's and were living in Lawrence, Massachusetts; then they moved to Chelsea, Massachusetts and lived there until their deaths. The family was told that the name Jarmolowicz was not our name, but it was changed because the Russian army wanted to draft my great-grandfather. I cannot remember what the family name was.

What city did your mother come to when she arrived in this country? Both my grandparents lived in the Lawrence/Lowell MA area.

Did you know that in the Erie, PA area there are a lot of Jarmolowicz's? I was surprised to find that out when I was travelling through that area.

Oh my goodness! I am related to you! These are my grandparents! I can give you the old mailing addresses. One of Martin and Amelia's daughters is still living in Chelsea.
Please contact me and maybe I can share some info, but either way, it is so nice to come across someone who is possibly related!

Allow me to add my name to those seeking JARMULOWICZ relatives. My great-grandfather was Peter JARMULOWICZ of Depew NY, came to USA from Wigry, Russian Poland, arriving in NYC in 1890. Moved to Detroit sometime in the 1920's and started using the name, Peter Harmon (not sure if it was legally changed or not). I would love to hear from anyone who thinks they might be connected.
