I think we may both be descendants of a Matthias Nace(Nehs) who came to Philadelphia on the "Britannia" Sept. 21,1731 from Germany. BIG family. Check. www.smsu.edu/contrib/bms/country/nehsold.htm

Thanks for your response. I've examined the Matthias NEHS descendents at length, and have yet to establish a link. I now tend to think my Adam NACE may be the son of an Adam NEHS in Lancaster County, but that is far from proven.

Robert, I am looking for information on Adam Ness. I am a descenendt of his son George Washington Nace christened on 5 Oct 1828 @St Jacobs Lutheran and Reformed Church in Brodbecks, York Co. PA. His parents are listed as Adam and Catharina Nace. There is only a 5-10 mile difference between the Brodbecks and N.Codorus. I have a record for Elizabeth Nes wife of Adam (Nece) b.1774 died 10 Aug 1829 age 55-6-7.I believe that she was to old to have given birth to George less then a year before her death. But I could be wrong.
Now to confuse things a little more,I also found a Adam Ness born 11 Mar 1799 died 13 June 1866(age 66-3-2) his wife was Eve born 1 Aug 1802 died 3 Feb 1885(age 82-6-2).At atines Cemetery in Penn Twp.I also came across three children of "ADAM EVE"; Lydia Ness died 8 Jan 1854 age 4-0-2, Adam Ness died @5 July 1849 age 22-0-10, and Isreal died 30 Nov 1846 age 5-9-29 all found at Stines Cemetery in Shrewsbury Twp.about 15-20 miles away from the previous Adam's Family.

I was looking at your other messages on Nace and saw the web address you noted for more info on Naces but I could not get it to work. I kept getting an error. Could you double check it and see if it works for you? Please let me know. Barb Engel

Sorry, but I don't have anything on him... to the best of my knowledge. If I uncover something as I better organize my data, I'll get back to you. My Nace/Nehs crew was from the York County PA area, but probably not the George Nace from Hanover, PA. I don't have info on that George, so I don't know if that's your guy or not.
