My grandfather Obed was born in Beaverdam New Brunswick. Born 1866. Married his cousin Minnie Nason, who also had a sister Lottie. Looking for more info on them and my great grandparents. Know Obed and Minnie had 6 children, Eva Adora Etta Hartley Byron and Irvin. All the kids alonf with Minnie moved to Thunder Bay ON on 1910. Eva married a Pomery and moved to Maine. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks Gary

My mother's name was Minna Nason - we came here from UK in 1960 - Her father's name was Gregory Nason and mother was Hannah (Safaty) Nason. I think they were Russian Jews who went to UK in the 1800's - maybe we could have some connection?

Dear Luba, I am not sure where my Grandfather's family originated, I don't know how they got to England, or really where they came from originally. I know they were Jewish, I thought they had come from Germany or Russia, but now don't know if that's correct. My Grandfather's parents were Julia and William Nason, and I believe his Grandparents were Elizabeth and John Nason, I haven't been able to go back further than that yet, but am working on it. If you have anything that could help, I would be most appreciative. Thanks.

Sarfati Nason names

Marc Sarfati (View posts)

My family name is Sarfati which used to be spelled Sarfatti. My entire father's family originates from Salonika Greece, after most probably a stop in Spain. Sarfati means French in Hebrew, which means the ancestors were probably thrown out of France in the 12oos, then out of Spain in the 1492 inquisition ... to get to a variety of places. There is a known rabbinical family Sarfati in Amsterdam, and a Place of that name too. Both Nason and Sarfati are typically Sephardic / ladino names. I d be interested to find more info on the subject that you may have.
Thanx

Page 211, "Desc. of Micum McIntire" shows the marriage of Guy John Blaisdell of York, to Elizabeth C. Nason, teacher, daughter of Charles E. Margaret A. (Finlayson) Nason, and they were residing in York in 1950.

Suggest you write York Town Clerk w/SASE and ask for details on Charles birth parents.

Hope this helps...Bob
