I'm looking for any information on B.H.Pater(b.?-d.1838) of Merzen ,Hanover, Germany.
Did the Paters originally migrate to Germany from the Netherlands?
BH Pater's sons( J.Henry and his wife/ and B.H.Pater and Gerhard, along with their mother, Elizabeth Gebbe Pater) came to the US in 1840/ 1850.
They settled in Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio.

My wife's G-G-Grandmother was Maria Agnes Pater b. 12/10/1828 in Unterhahsen,Wurtemburg Germany. She came to the US in 1849. She married Johannes Reiff who also came here from the same place in Germany in 1849 possibly on the same ship. They were married 4/17/1850 in Hamilton, Ohio, Butler Co.She died 7/15/1897.
I would appreciate any information that you may have that ties into this family.
