I believe that I may have found my Seery's as stemming from Offaly (see message #5 above).

I have Patrick born 1840-44 in Ireland. His brother, John, born roughly 1834. Their younger brother Thomas born in roughly 1848. All three emigrated to the Philadelphia area. It seems that Patrick and John fought in the Civil War. While reseraching John's pension records at the National Archives in Washington, DC, I found a letter in the file, written by his wife, after his death. The letter asks for an increase in the amount of her pension, and provided various personal details as she was trying to demonstrate that she was indeed his wife. Among the information, it stated he was born in Kin's County (now Offaly), Ireland. Therefore, I believe this is where he and his brother's were born. Any information, or possible matches, are greatly appreciated.

My greatgrandfather was Bartholomew Seery. He was born in County Offaly, Ireland circa 1836 and emigrated to Scotland. I do not know the date he emigrated but he married a Mary McLeod there and they had a son. They later walked (according to family legend) down to England carrying the baby and looking for work. I believe he found work as a labourer and she worked in the mines. They had four other children.

I am not aware of any Bartholomew's in my line - or emigrations to Scotland - but as I continue to work on this, I will let you know. Do you kow where in Offaly he was from?

Hello, I have Michael Seery born circa 1838, they came from Kings County, Ireland, he married Catharine Conway b circa 1826, as far as we know they had two daughters Ann b 1859 and Jane b 1862, we have found Jane's date of birth as being 15/3/1862.
I don't know if these are any relation to you, would you please let me know if they are.

Having no luck with my Seery. All I have is Arthur Seery, born abt 1922( reputably with an Irish accent) and his father John Seery who is recorded as deceased on my mother in laws marriage certificate of 1951
