My grandfather, Frederick C. Winters, was born in Pittsburgh, PA and had several brothers and sisters. Spme of his brothers attended Penn State Univ. for a medical education. He attended Penn State to pursue an education in agriculture. Settling on a farm outside Titusville, Pa. {Crawford Co.} until his death in the 1930's.
We have lost all contacts to the Winters family and would like to learn more about my heritage. If anyone can assist me in my search, please e-mail me. All contacts will be greatly appreciated and will be followed through

My maternal grandmother was Dorothy Eleanor Winters of western PA originally. Her father was George, they moved to the Steubenville,OH area when my grandma was perhaps in her early teens. She was born in 1905 and died May 19,1997. My understanding is that the town of Wintersville,OH, near Steubenville, is named after our family. Her father George died at an early age(in his 40's) of a black widow spider bite. His wife was Annrenetta and they had two daughters; my grandmother Dorothy and her younger sister by 9 years, Marion. Dorothy married Glenn Waugh in 1928 and they had 2 daughters; my mother Marilyn Rae and her sister Dorothy Joann. My grandmother was very fond of tracing geneology, as am I. She told us that we were ancestors of Charles Carroll(signer of the Declaration of Independence) and Dr. Samuel Mudd(the physician who treated John Wilkes Boothe). However I do not know if those ancestors were on the Winters side or her mother's side. I have more information if you believe this is the same Winters branch you are seeking information about.
