Looking for more information about Dr. James M. Youngblood's life in St. Louis. He was an assistant surgeon at the Gratiot St. Prison Hospital during the Civil War. He married Volumnia Orso Xaupi 6 July 1863 it was a catholic wedding. He died 24 Jun 1879 and was buried in the Bellfountaine Cemetery.
I am looking for more information about his work at the prison, the marriage (one source says they were married by the Cardinal from Chicago), and a copy of his will. I'm not sure about where records are located in St. Louis City and County. What year did the city split from the county?
