Merchant Seaman's Mission, South Tyneside

Surnames: Bates, Bates-Brown
My G-Grandfather, Samuel William Bates' last known address, ca: 1890-1920 was the Merchant Seaman's Mission, South Tyneside. He was estranged from my grandmother, Margaret Ann Bates or Bates-Brown. I would like to hear from anyone knows how to access or contact someone from the Seaman's Mission. I have information about his 3 daughters, Jessie, LucyAnn and Bertha who later became Home Children in the care of the Barnardo home and sent to Canada in 1911. There might have been sons born in Essex as well and sent to Australia.
