Mary Emma Wynn, daughter of James Phillip Wynn and Susan Justice, married Wilburn/William H Malone 15 Feb 1903 Richland Parish, LA

Mary Emma was born 1866 in Richland Parish and is supposed to be buried at Wynn Island Cemetery.

I don't know anything about her Malone husband. Does anyone know who his parents or siblings were?? When or where he was born/died??

They had one daughter, Willie Mae (who was my husband's grandmother).

Supposedly Willie Mae had a brother named Bart, but I don't know if he was a full brother or a half brother.

All help much appreciated as this is a puzzle that has me stumped.

Thanks!

Lisa

I apologize for the extremely tardy reply to this posting. I've learned a lot since I first posted my query.

1. The Emma Wynn shown here is the first cousin of Mary Emma Wynn that I referenced. James is James Phillip Wynn who married Susan Justice. James is the brother of "our" Mary Emma Wynn's father, Felix G.

On 14 Jun 1870 Richland Parish census records, James Phillip Wynn & family (incl dau Mary E aged 4) are in 23/23. This has led many people to believe that the parents of Mary Emma Wynn were James & his wife. Not so!

Looking at the bottom of the previous page, you find the household of James C Weaver and Cynthia Ann Wynn (this couple later married 2 Jun 1874). Cynthia is the widow of Felix Wynn. In the house with them are children Sarah J 9, Thomas 6 & Lurena 4. BUT YOU CAN'T STOP THERE! ALWAYS LOOK AT THE TOP OF THE NEXT PAGE!! And there you will find Mary E Wynn 10 months!

If you don't pay attention, you miss that there were TWO Mary E Wynns who were first cousins!

2. Yes, the second enumeration is for Wilburn H Malone, husband of Mary Emma Wynn. He married multiple times and died in Cherokee Co, TX.

3. About my uncertainty of whether or not Mary Emma Wynn had a brother Bart...she did indeed, he was the son of Wilburn H Malone and a previous wife (prior to Mary Emma Wynn). I don't have her name, but (as best I can tell) by her he had Joshua Barton (BART), Croford (Cross/Crawford) & Wilburn H all born between 11 Aug 1891 and 22 Aug 1896.

Thanks for your help!
