Can someone tell me what was at 2210 N Broadway, St. Louis, MO in 1891? My great-great grandmother, Sarah Green Crump, died there.
Thanks!

I searched the 1890 c/dir. both name & address--no 2210. 2212: Boarders; 2208: Mattress mfg. But--2312 Emma Green, wid. John. By Oct. 1909, (Sanborn Fire Ins. Map--Bdwy., bet. Clinton & Monroe) Carriage factory for John Deere Plow Co.

I also searched MO death records for 2210 (Sarah's, too) and there were other deaths--one in 1894, '98. Possibly John Deere bought out the owners at least after 1898 and before 1909.

Just out of curiosity, how did you search the death records by address? I live in STL, and that sounds like something handy to learn how to do.

I probably tried this out of frustration at one time.
In the search form just enter: 2210 n. broadway in the keyword box--that's all. Just tried it again and it turns up 2 deaths.
Also, in the 1890 City Directory, if you know that your search is a "tailor", try that in the keyword box in case there's a variation in the name spelling.

Was that in the Missouri gov't deaths DB, or the ancestry DB?

Whoops--that's the Ancestry STL 1850-1908 death index

Just tried 2210 in the keyword box as an afterthought in the MO >1931 DB and it worked...to a point. You've got to scan each "view record" to see which street. Never tried that, so thanks for the incentive.
