DO YOU HAVE ANY RELATIVES FROM TROY,NY.MY GRANDMOTHER CATHERINE MARY LEONARD B IRELAND 1869 CAME TO TROY IN 1882. SHE HAD BROTHERS MICHAEL & ANDREW AND SISTER DELIA.
My Leonard's are German - settled in Bethlehem in 1760's.
reference: The Henry Leonard b. l8l6
Did this Henry Leonard have a younger brother
I am looking for a Henry Leonard who was living
in Chili (Monroe County) NY in l832. His son
Orin Leonard was born there at that time.
Henry married a widow? by the name of ?? Paull.
and they moved to Michigan in l835.
sorry - 13 child in family - one unidentified prob died young. No PHILLIP
Can you name the Leonards that settled in Bethlehem in 1760's. I am searching for a Jacob b. abt. 1763, but don't know where.
My great- great grandfather was George L. Leonard. He was from Byron, NY and married Linnie Dibble in 1876. Is this Leonard any relation to yours? Thank you. Sandy
One of the missing branches of LEONARD's I am seeking were the family of John Daniel Leonard, b. 6 Apr 1806, bp 4 May 1806, Jerusalem RC, Twn Bethlehem (now Twn of New Scotland), Albany Co, NY (s/o Daniel LEONARD & Elizabeth SALSBURY). I am descended from John's brother, Solomon Southwick LEONARD & Angelica LAGRANGE. Solomon's daughter, Susan (sister of my great grandfather) gave information on John Daniel to a previous LEONARD researcher in the 1930-40's & is the only information I have to go on at present: John Daniel LEONARD's family as follows:
John married Judith Ann Brown. The following are the children as given by my grandfather's Aunt Susan. The would have been her cousins:
1. George Brown LEONARD - prob b. about 1826
2. Solomon S. LEONARD - prob b. abt 1828 [may have been named for uncle (bro of John's father).
3. James LEONARD - prob b. abt 1830
4. John Daniel LEONARD, Jr - prob b. about 1832
5. Andrew Vanderheyden LEONARD - prob b. about 1834
6. Edward LEONARD - prob b. about 1836
7. Charles LEONARD - prob b. about 1838
8. Margaret LEONARD - prob b. abt. 1840
9. Jacob Teneyck LEONARD - prob b. abt. 1843.
I do not know if the birth order is correct. This family did not stay in Albany Co. I have found no birth or marriage records in Albany Co. John Daniel's father, Daniel LEONARD was in Schoharie County between 1810-1830. So it's possible his son, John Daniel was married there & moved with his bride to another locality or even another state.
Have you done any census records for your George? If you can get back one more generation we might be able to determine if your George is a descendant of my LEONARD ancestor's.
