Hello Val

If you are still looking for information re: Annie Carew and John Sullivan I may be able to help. I am trying to make a connection between Annie and the Carews of Tipperary.

Hi Val
Have a list of 15 Sullivans living in Mallow c1852, also a monument inscription from St. Marys Catholic Cemetry, Mallow Co. Cork, 1833. If you do not have these I will send them on to you.
I may be able to get a list of parish records to make a match
of the names, but would have to check what is aveilable.
If you want this information would prefer to email it to you.
My connection with the Carews is through my mother, her maiden name was Carew and is descended from the Carews of Tipperary. Her grandfather emmigrated to Australia in the 1800's.

Let me know Val what you think

Regards

Bruce

HELLO BRUCE

NICE TO HEAR FROM YOU. I WOULD BE MOST GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD SEND ME THE LIST. I HAVE CONTACTED A DISTANT COUSIN RICHARD SULLIVAN WHO LIVES IN PERTH W.A. TO INFORM HIM OF YOUR CONNECTION AND HE IS JUST AS EXCITED AS I. BOTH RICHARD AND I HAVE REACHED A BRICK WALL WHEN IT COMES TO IRELAND. WE KNOW THAT JOHN SULLIVAN WAS EITHER A BAKER OR WINE AND SPIRIT MERCHANT ADDRESS MAIN STREET, MALLOW CORK ( REF PIGGOTT'S DIRECTORY 1824). HE AND ANNIE WOULD HAVE BEEN BORN CIRCA 1785 AND MARRIED CIRCA 1820. IF THE NAMES OF THE CHILDREN ARE IN ORDER OF GRANDPARENTS THEN THEIR FIRST BORN WAS JOHN AND MAY BE SECOND BORN RICHARD, THAT WOULD MAKE ANNIE'S FATHER A RICHARD ALSO--- BUT THIS IS JUST CONJECTURE.
I TAKE IT THAT YOU LIVE IN IRELAND, IS THAT CORRECT? I WAS WONDERING IF ANY OF THE CAREWS MIGRATED TO AUSTRALIA.

ACCORDING TO MY SOURCES
69 CAREWS WERE BORN IN VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA BETWEEN 1836-1888
48 CAREWS MARRIED IN VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA BETWEEN 1836-1888
48 CAREWS DIED IN VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA BETWEEN 1836-1888

WAITING TO HEAR FROM YOU BRUCE

THANKYOU FROM A POSSIBLE VERY DISTANT COUSIN

My great grandmother was Annie Carew born in Solohead Parish, Tipperary county. She married Richard English, moved to St John's, Newfoundland circa 1845 and then on to Joliett, Illinois in 1860.
Now I know of a Thomas Carew from Tipperary who moved to Sydney and married Rosanna Dowling in 1845. If any of this is helpful, let me know.
